Rules of the Library

• All borrowers are accountable for materials checked out on their user cards.
• The use of another member’s user or membership card is strictly prohibited and considered a serious offense.
• Library materials must be returned or renewed on or before the end of the loan period; otherwise, a fine will be imposed per item per day or hour, and further loans will be restricted.
• Users must ensure that all library items in their possession are properly issued before leaving the premises.
• Unauthorised removal of library items will result in strict disciplinary action and a substantial fine.
• Short loan items are to be used within the library for a two-hour period and must not be taken outside.
• For any lost or damaged items, the replacement value, as determined by the Librarian, must be paid. Alternatively, an exact copy may be submitted as a replacement.
• Reserving study spaces by leaving personal belongings at a desk is not allowed. The library assumes no responsibility for the security of unattended items.
• Noise or disturbances within the library are prohibited.
• Rude or undisciplined behaviour towards staff and security personnel, hindering them from performing their duties, will result in fines and disciplinary action.
• Smoking (including vaping and hookah), and eating (including chewing gum), are not permitted in the library.
• Users may bring closed, non-spill, containers with water, but no other beverages are allowed.
• All food and beverages, except water, must be stored in lockers at the library entrance. Please bring your own padlock.
• Personal items should be removed from lockers before the library closes each day.
• Mobile phones must be set to silent upon entering the library, and phone conversations are not allowed inside.
• All rules regarding the use of library venues and equipment must be followed. Non-compliance with these rules will result in fines.
