NUST Library is excited to launch its new 'Click-and-Collect' book retrieval service at the Main Library in Windhoek.
All clients will be able to request books from the Main Library, while our library building is closed.
You can request a book by going to the Library’s online catalogue, ENCORE, and search for the book you want. When you find it, click on the little envelope to the right of the book you want.
An e-mail form will open. In the Email address space type in email@example.com, clear the Subject field and fill in your Name Surname and your Student/Staff/Outside Membership Number, and click on Send.
We will let you know when your request is ready for collection. Please bring along your student, staff or outside membership card for identification purposes. For more information about the service, head to our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for Click-and-Collect or call 0816920448.
Click-and-Collect is available to NUST Library members.
Loans are limited to books from the NUST Main Library, on-site collection only. All Library members can borrow open shelf books according to their normal loan privileges. In addition, NUST students may borrow a maximum of 2 short loan books for a period of 2 days, while NUST academic staff may borrow a maximum of 2 short loan books for a period of 4 days.
Fines apply for late returns.
You can check your Library Account for due dates.
You will receive an email or call from us within one business day. The message will tell you the loan details for each requested item, how long you can borrow them for and where to collect them from.
Requesting items for pick-up at a different location is currently not available.
NUST Students and Staff can request interlibrary loans for items available electronically. No print interlibrary loans can be ordered currently, due to widespread closures of libraries nationally and internationally.
You can return these books at the Security Desk of the Main Library.
You cannot request items currently out on loan or in quarantine. To discuss your requirements and possible alternative resources, you can contact us via phone or e-mail, WhatsApp or SMS to 0816920448 or completing the Ask a Librarian form. We will respond during office hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30-16:30.
Books need to be collected within one working day of receiving the message that they are ready to be picked up.
The Library maintains strict hygiene protocols in line with NUST and government guidelines. These protocols will be required to be adhered to by all NUST staff and students. Library staff use gloves and masks and follow strict materials handling protocols. Students, staff and outside members will not be allowed to pick up their books from the Library without masks and gloves. Items returned to the Library will undergo a quarantine period of 72 hours prior to being returned from your record and being available for request again.
Please do not come to campus to collect items if you are unwell.
No public access to any NUST Library building or collection is currently permitted.
